I don’t know if we should be covering Ron Howard’s 80’s masterpiece of creepy that is Willow here on Dread Central. After all, the film isn’t horror. But that said, it caused many a nightmare for this guy as a kid so I’m just going to go ahead and remind you of those scary-ass dog-things, and the trolls at the end and call it a day.
Actually, before we call it a day, I wanted to make sure you guys were aware that Howard was recently out and about promoting his upcoming Star Wars spin-off Lando when he dropped some info on a possible sequel to his fantasy film.
“I don’t want to give away too much, but there is a little talk of Willow,” Howard told ComicBook.com. “We wouldn’t call it Willow 2, I think it would focus a lot on Elora Danan, although Willow would have to be significantly involved.”
Enter the world of “Willow.” Journey to the far corners of your imagination, to a land of myth and magic, where dream and reality live side by side … to a place that never existed, a time that never was. It is a world where a young man named Willow lives out an adventure that explodes beyond the boundaries of his own hopes and fears.
