Exclusive: ETHERIA FILM NIGHT Official Lineup Brings BRIDE OF FRANKIE, C U LATER TUESDAY, and More

The 2018 Etheria Film Night has unveiled the 10 short films that will be screened at Los Angeles’ Egyptian Theater on June 16 and we’re here to bring you details on each of the titles! Featuring shorts from around the world, this year will bring a bevy of genre clips from incredible talent. Below we break down each of the films being shown.

The event is being conducted by Shock Waves co-host Rebekah McKendry, who will also be presenting the festival’s 2018 Inspiration Award to Rachel Talalay, the director of Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, Ghost In The Machine, Tank Girl, and more. She explains,
Everything I know about filmmaking, I learned from either A Nightmare on Elm Street or from John Waters. Genre films are the bastion of creativity and imagination. Etheria is a prime cut: laugh ‘til you scream, scream ‘til you laugh.

Etheria programmer Heidi Honeycutt explains, “This year story is what mattered most. All of our 2018 filmmakers have great vision and are genuine artists.

Festival director Stacy Pippi Hammon adds, “Five is a very special number to me and for us to reach our 5th anniversary brings me great joy tinged with nostalgia over where we started, pride in what we have accomplished, and excitement for where we are going next. The celebration of this year’s filmmakers, the launch of the Stephanie Rothman Fellowship, welcoming [Director of Marketing and Coordination] Jessie Lilley to the fold, and being able to honor Rachel Talalay with the Inspiration Award all in one year touches me in knowing that so many have also been touched and believe in the message we are sending with this event.
